Message from the blogosphere to Mark Kirk …

From a friend …

“Mark Kirk is toast.”

“Here are some comments posted on the Chicago Tribune website this morning regarding Mark Kirk’s breathtaking “YES” vote for the 1500-page bill that the Wall Street Journal called ‘the biggest tax in American history’.”

“The bill passed yesterday by a razor slim margin of SEVEN VOTES (219-212), and succeeded only with the help of just EIGHT turncoat so-called “Republicans”, including our own Mark Kirk.”

ABOUT MARK KIRK’S DEFECTION
(as of 11 am June 27th)

Has Rep. Mark Kirk announced what he plans to do when his term — and his entire political career — come to an end in 2010? Because after his “yes” vote today, there’s no way he’s ever going to get elected to anything ever again.

Mark Kirk had a promising career and killed it in a single vote. His vote on this piece of garbage for higher taxes, more bureaucracy and continued loss of our personal freedom has now defined his career and what he thinks of the taxpayers.(Perhaps he had too much kool-aid at Barry’s luau last night, or maybe he’s just in favor of the Dems M.O. of ramming through liberal legislation without giving any responsible member of congress time to read and contemplate what they’re voting on.)
p.s. 1200 pages and nothing on nuclear power or drilling in US - nice plan arsholes!

Rep.Kirk can forget any statewide race after this vote. He may be re-elected to Congress by the liberals in his district, but downstate Republicans will see that he never gets the nomination for U. S. Senator.

RINO Kirk just sealed his senatorial ambitions death warrant.

As a Kirk constituent I too have to say WHAT was he thinking???? Like the greens are going to vote for, campaign for or contribute to him over whatever Dem is on the other side.

Unless, of course, he plans to run for Senate as a Democrat. Then it all makes perfect sense.

Mr. Kirk, you blew this one, big time. Might as well retire. I hear Argentina’s women are hot for middle aged Republicans. Buenas Aires beckons!

Could it actually be that the downstaters could save our state? from Chicago? Kirk is toast… I sure hope. You guys can really undo this mess by stopping the democrat greed and corruption machine. I pray for your return to wisdom.

[Kirk] is really a RINO..

I’m glad this atrocious, unconstitutioonal, deluded piece of crap passed, for it’ll mark the beginning of the end for the Utopian Nutjobs who have commandeered the ship of state.

Mark Kirk, what the **** were you thinking??? You are over with, Do you really think voting for this monstrosity is going to garner support from Democrats in the district? Unbelievable, start looking for the next gig Mark…

Kirk will see the writing on the wall and do a Spector. We’re not done with this guy folks.

Mark Kirk (IL) a a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives voted in favor of this. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

Mark Kirk is toast!! I just tried calling his Northbrook and Washington offices and his voice mail is full…I could not even tell him that he just lost one of his strongest supporters. My “Kirk” bumper sticker comes off my car this afternoon!!!

I emailed Roskam asking him the next time he sees Kirk in the hallways to help him pull his head out.

Mark Kirk is gone politically. He’ll never get a vote from me again, for anything that he runs.

Energy is already high as it is. This bill will tag on a bunch of taxes on top of all the taxes that we’re already paying. Just so that Obama can say that he’s green.

If there is any job loss due to this bill, let’s make Mark Kirk’s the first one.

Agree 100%. I’ve contributed to [Kirk’s] campaigns. Will he give me a refund? He is too smart a guy to believe in this bill. This was a purely political maneuver. This bill is anathema to everything the republican party stands for. He should change parties.

I sincerely hope the people in Mark Kirk’s Congressional District remember what he did on Friday, especially those who are struggling financially right now to make ends meet, or who have lost their jobs and are having difficulty finding a new one. Remember well what YOUR Congressional Representative, the one YOU voted into office to represent YOUR views, did to you on Friday.

And make sure you remember it the next time he runs for re-election again, or if he tries to run for the Senate.

In fact, why not drop him a couple thousand emails or letters to let him know that you WILL remember what he did on Friday?

This is a job-killer. … In particular, it’ll Mark Kirk’s job killer. I hope that he can find another “green” job elsewhere outside of politics. I live in the 10th Congressional District (don’t pay attention to the ISP) and consistently voted for the guy. Just a couple of weeks ago, I went to his townhall meeting in Wilmette and thought that he is a good guy. Not anymore. He can kiss his dream of being a Senator or Governor goodbye, and probably his Representative job too.

A couple of companies that will make out like a bandit if this passes the Senate are Goldman Sachs and GE. They stand to make Trillions. That’s right, Trillions.
Something tells me they will also be contributing heavily to Kirk’s senate election campaign.
